just a word about

surface decoration.

Pyromaniac tendencies aside, the thing I loved most about Raku is how the flame from the reduction chamber made the surface marks and I was free to concentrate on the shape of the pot.  The result felt very organic and spontaneous.  Translating those characteristics to functional ware and cone 6 glazes is a journey I have only just begun.

If you're "just working" on that green and tan glaze with the circular mark, you're off to a GREAT start! The tones are beautiful and the chocolate color for the mark is just right. Sign me up for that mug!!
