farmer's markets start this month

Luckily not til the end of the month.

I used to sell my raku pots at Eastern Market in Washington DC. That seems long ago and far, far away.  And actually, it was.  I started this return to pottery with a very clear goal - to make and sell functional work that would be inexpensive to buy and a joy to hold and use.  A straightforward idea, a lofty goal, a romantic notion about a craftsperson and her craft.  And, rather amazingly, a reality.  The making part anyway.  Selling is the great unknown.  And its different this time around.  Before I made raku pots because of the process,  I loved creating the shapes and the randomness of the firing.  I made them for me.  Now I make pieces with other people in mind.
